Evolution of Sound Design Inspiration

A major influence on my work comes from the sound design direction developed for the franchise by the audio teams at Toei Company, along with composers and sound creators such as Go Sakabe. Their use of synthetic audio, rhythmic mechanical effects, and cinematic intensity helped shape the modern identity of the series and inspired me to experiment with layered sound samples and processed textures throughout this project.

Through this process, I explored how sound can enhance transformation, motion, and emotional impact while creating a distinct futuristic atmosphere. At the bottom are three examples showcasing how sound design evolved over time, beginning in 1971, progressing through 2014, and culminating in a 2026 interpretation.
